How to create Exploding Planet – Photoshop Tutorials

Here I am presents how to create Exploding Planet in Photoshop. This is very easy Tutorials. If you have little knowledge about Photoshop you will learn it. We have to use here some Filter and Effects to complete this cool Photoshop Tutorials. OK let's starts our lesson.





Step - 1
First time we need a Dried Mud photo. We use here a dried mud image. If you want you can use another or you can search in for collect dried mud photo.
Take a new document from the file menu or press Ctrl+N a window will come set Width 800 px X Height 600 px and Resolution 72 px/inc then click OK.
Now open a dried mud photo and press Ctrl+A to select all, then go to the new document we just created and press CTRL+V to paste the image.

Step - 2

Here dried mud cracks are black. We need to invert this image so mud cracks will be white and that's better for our work.

To Invert the image Go Image » Adjustment » Invert (or press CTRL+I)

Step - 3

Now use the Eliptical Marquee Tool from the Tools box in the left side of the Photoshop window and make a large round selection on the image. Hold SHIFT while you create the selection to make a perfect round circle like below.

Now go to Select » Inverse

Then press Delete button from keyboard so you are left with a Circle from the mud image. Do not deselect yet.

and now we still got our selection, go to SELECT » INVERSE again to select the shape.

Step - 4

Go to Filter » Distort » Spherize. 

A window will come set Amount to 100% then click OK.

Do it again, this time set the amount 50%.

Now we can Deselect the selection. Press Ctrl+d to deselect the selection. 

Fill the Background with Black.
First select background layer form the layer palette.
Set the Foreground color black from Tools Box.
Go Edit » Fill.
A window will come set the Use: Foreground Color then OK.

Then go to Layer » Flatten Image.

Now go to Filter » Sharpen » unsharp Mask.
Set the Amount: 500%. Radius: 1.7px. Threshold: 122 levels and click OK. After we will see the result like below.

Step - 5

Go to Filter » Distort » Polar Co-ordinates.

Set the options: Polar to Rectangular.

Step - 6

Now go to: Image » Rotate Canvas » 90CW.

Step - 7

Apply: Filter » Stylize » Wind

Set the Method: Wind. Direction: From the right.

Now do this again or press Ctrl+F to do it again.

Step - 8

Now go to: Image » Rotate Canvas » 90CCW.

Finally, apply Filter » Distort » Polar Coordinates again.

This time set the options: Rectangular to Polar and we will see our desire result below.

Step - 9: This is final steps of the Photoshop Tutorials

Almost we done our work. Now we have to Colorize it. We can do it many ways.

Just Go Image » Hue and Saturation

a window will come tick the Colorize and Preview option. Set the different amount in the Hue and Saturation option and see the result when we got our desire color then click OK.
