How to make Photo to Color Sketch - Photoshop Tutorials 24

In this Photoshop Tutorials we will learn how to make a photo to color sketch. I try to present here one of the easiest way to make a photo to color sketch.








Step - 1

First we need to open a photo to start. Here we use a girl photo. If you want you can use any photo as your wish.















Step -2

Now we need to duplicate the background layer. So go Layer » Duplicate Layer.
or Go Layer palette and just right click on the Background layer then select Duplicate Layer.





Step - 3

Now select the duplicate layer that's mean Layer 1.


Go Image » Adjustments » Desaturate.

Then go to Filter » Other » High Pass.
A window will come set the Radius 2.0 (you can change this amount. it's actually depends on you photo)









Step - 4

Press Ctrl+L to open the Levels window
or go Image » Adjustments » Levels

a window will come like below.

Now we have to adjust 3 sliders so that the image looks like a sketched image.








Step - 5

Now change the Layer 1 Opacity. Set the Opacity 50%.

Also change the blending mode.

Set the Blending mode Overlay.






After done above work you will find your photo turns like below.

Step -6 

Now select the Background layer from layer palette.
Go Filter » Artistic » Cutout.
Set Number of Levels: 8
Edge Simplicity: 0
Edge Fidelity: 3



Then see the output below.

Step - 7

Now we add some noise effects.


Go to Filter » Noise » Add noise.

a window will come set the
Amount: 5%
Distribution: Gaussian
Monochromatic: Checked

Then click OK.






Step - 8 : Final steps of this Photoshop Tutorials

OK this is our last steps.

Go Filter » Blur » Motion Blur.
A window will come then set the angle 45 degree, and distance: 10px.

And finally , go to Filter » Sharpen » Sharpen.
Do this couple of time so that you will get better result.
